Pirates Ahoy!

Our children have really enjoyed our Pirate theme.
Through this theme we have focused on the skills of solving number problems, being able to talk about how we are the same and different to our friends and family, and joining different materials in a variety of ways.

We have loved using our new Maths resource Numicon for solving maths problems including matching, counting, halving, doubling, adding and taking away.

On a Numicon treasure hunt solving adding and taking away problems.

Painting our own pirate ship - Land Ahoy!

Making our treasure chests choosing which materials are the best for joining.

Making treasure maps using tea bags to make our maps look old and adding our own features.

Pirate role play and making up our own stories.

Counting pirate treasure.

Exploring the magnets - will it pick up the pirate gold?

Beaumont Book Project

The children had a lovely time being interviewed by the Year 8 students from Beaumont, they shared their opinions brilliantly and were very confident in expressing their favourite things about books and stories.

The children are invited to Beaumont in a couple of weeks' time (letter with more info coming home tomorrow - Thursday 26th June) to receive their finished books.  We look forward to sharing the books with you soon.
