Autumn all around us

On Friday afternoon Butterflies went for an Autumn walk and found lots of lovely objects that let us know the seasons have definitely changed!  We foraged on the floor and in the hedgerow, and were very careful to only pick up things that had already fallen off trees and bushes.  We found some lovely seeds, leaves, flowers, twigs and grasses, and added them to our nature sticks to make a record of our walk.  We talked about the diffent colours and textures of the objects on our sticks, and compared how different they all were.

Oh no! A Gruffalo!

In Foundation we have been learning about Autumn and meeting The Gruffalo.
Nursery have been on an Autumn walk and found Autumn leaves of different colours.
We used our finds to make collages.

We have used puppets and masks to retell The Gruffalo story.

We even used our very own stage!

We used Autumn objects to help us with our Maths.

If you are out on a walk please bring us any Autumn objects you find. We can use them in our Autumn shop, in our leaf printing, in our counting games and on our investigation table. Happy Hunting... oh and make sure you don't bump into a Gruffalo!
