Pop crackle whizz!

Last week we started with a bang with lots of talk of fireworks and Bonfire night.
We talked about how we stay safe when watching fireworks with our family.

After watching a show we talked about the noises that fireworks make and created a huge word bank by sharing our ideas.  Then some of us made our own noise cards to display in the room.

Outside we used chalk to draw firework patterns to develop our gross motor skills and get those strong arms for writing!

We used ribbons and scarves to make our own firework movements (in between the rain showers!)

In Butterflies Busy Fingers we were very creative using various resources to make our own rockets.  We also made our own firework scenes by manipulating paper in different ways.

A word about phonics - we are so proud of the children for the effort they are putting in to learning their sounds and tricky words, they are showing great enthusiasm and enjoy the sense of achievement when they get things right!  Well done!
